Stopping Genocide.
rescuing the Next Generation.

We work alongside Nigeria’s internally displaced families  bringing schools, protection, relief, and advocacy to the camps and children the world has largely left behind.

MISSION

When we asked the mothers what they needed most, they replied:
“Please educate our children.”
 That is our mission.
Africa Arise exists to educate a generation of Nigerian children who have been driven from their homes due to violent persecution. Most have lost loved ones, property, and everything dear to them. Through Arise Academies, we provide hope, education, and the ministry of Christ’s love within the IDP camps where they now live.

VISION

Africa Arise envisions every Nigerian child with access to education, every family living in dignity, and the Church rising to meet them where they are.

FOUNDING STORY

In 2019, founder Mike Arnold stumbled into a displacement camp in Nigeria’s capital city — filled with survivors of a massacre 500 miles away. They had nothing. No water, no food, no medicine, no shelter.

He met a school principal who had lost everything. When he asked how he could help, she didn’t ask for food or water.

She said: “Help me teach these children. With an education they will have the strength to resist the recruiters. They will have a vision and a path out of here.”

Her name is Ms. Hanatu. That conversation started Arise Academies.

A Tribute to Prof. John Ofoegbu

Africa Arise is the next-generation continuation of the pioneering work of the late Prof. John Ofoegbu, founder of Unity for Africa and the International Coalition of Reconcilers. His two decades of ground-breaking gospel outreach, organizing, and ministry across the continent are recognized as foundational to the spiritual revival that has blazed across Africa.

His work and testimony continue today through Africa Arise, carried forward by those he mentored and the communities he served.

So I give you now a new commandment: Love each other just as much as I have loved you." — John 13:34

Mike Arnold

Co-Founder

One look at Mike Arnold’s bio will show you how God has given him a unique perspective to impact the communities he serves. Mike Arnold is a builder. He doesn’t inherit institutions—he creates them. His leadership has been tested not in theory, but in practice: in small towns and sprawling cities, in start-up mode and in systems breakdown, with no safety net but a clear vision.
